Jordan Henderson responds to Liverpool fans' title chants after Man Utd win

Jordan Henderson is refusing to get carried away despite Liverpool going 16 points clear at the top of the Premier League.

Goals from Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah helped Liverpool to a 2-0 victory over Manchester United at Anfield.

The Reds remain unbeaten and have won 21 of their 22 matches so far this term.

They also have a game in hand on champions Manchester City and Liverpool are now in pole position to win their first Premier League title.

The Anfield crowd bellowed out the chant 'We're gonna win the league' at full-time but Henderson insists the players aren't losing focus.

Asked about the chants by Sky Sports' Geoff Shreeves, he said: "We aren't really thinking about the end. Why should we change now?

"Why think about the end of the season? There are a lot of games left and we have took it game by game so far.

"It has put us in good stead so there is no need to change. For us as players, it is about the next game and the next challenge.

"The Premier League is tough, every game is tough."

On controlling the expectation of the Anfield fans, Henderson added: "Ever since I came here, there has been an expectation to win and be successful.

"That will never change. It is very special, we are enjoying our football.

"But you have to stay hungry and keep wanting to learn and improve and we know we can. This group of players wants to do that.

"It is about keeping going every single day until the end of the season."
