Jordan Henderson has questioned the timing of referee Paul Tierney's half-time whistle during Liverpool's Premier League clash with Manchester United.
Liverpool and United played out a goalless draw at Anfield on Sunday as Jurgen Klopp's men missed the chance to go back above their rivals at the top of the table.
Both sides had chances to win it but had to settle for a point apiece in the end.
One talking point after the game was the contentious nature of how the opening period ended.
A minimum of one minute added time was signalled by the fourth official and with around 55 seconds of that played, Tierney blew his whistle to bring the half to a close.
This happened just as Liverpool midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri played a pass over the top into the path of team-mate Sadio Mane.
The Reds claimed Mane would have been through on goal if play had been allowed to continue, though we will never know after Tierney's intervention.
"Yeah, we weren't happy about that, as you can imagine," Henderson told Sky Sports.
"Strange, very strange. I think he was through on goal if he doesn't blow.
"I don't know. We were frustrated at half-time but there was still plenty of time for us to score the goal - but again just lacked that quality in the last bit."

He added: "It seems to be the problem at the minute - in the box, just finding that little bit of luck to drop to someone and get a clean strike at it, or ricochets off someone and goes in.
"That can happen in football sometimes. You've just got to keep going, keep working hard and, hopefully, it can change quickly."
Reflecting on the game in general, Henderson said: "We're disappointed we haven't took the three points, at home.
"I thought we did enough to win the game, especially first half. We had a lot of the ball, creating chances, just couldn't find the back of the net, really.
"They had one or two chances as well, to be fair to them. We know they are dangerous on the counter attack.
"So they had one or two chances but, overall, I felt we were the better team to win the game."
On United, Henderson said: "They are dangerous on the counter attack, they are dangerous away from home - their record speaks for itself. So we knew it would be a tough game.
"But I thought our performance level was really good - counter pressing and winning the ball back quickly was good.
"They were always going to have one or two moments but it was about trying to limit that and I felt as though we did that well.
"Overall, we're disappointed not to get the three points."
Henderson was deployed as a makeshift centre-back, alongside fellow midfielder Fabinho - in the absence of Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.
"Of course, against United and the quality they possess, the clean sheet is a positive for us," said the England international.
"So, yeah, it's interesting to play there. It's difficult at times but the manager has asked us to do a job and I just try my best to do that."
Liverpool are now without a win in four league games - and have failed to score in the past three.
"I would say the performance level hasn't been up to the standard over the last few weeks, as we know," said Henderson.
"But again, this group of lads have shown that we've just got to keep going, keep working hard, keep improving.
"It's a strange season for everyone this year, I feel, so we'll not stop now. We want to keep going again.
"I think the performance level was very good today. That's all you can do - leave everything on the pitch, just give everything - and I felt we did that, so we can't be too down.
"Yes, we want to win, we tried out best today but couldn't find the goal to make that happen but, ultimately, there's still a long way to go and still a lot of points to play for.
"We'll give everything right until the end."
