Jordan Henderson offers injury confirmation after substitution in Liverpool's Burnley win

Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson has sought to quash any injury concerns after he was substituted against Burnley on Saturday.

The Reds continued their 100 per cent start to the Premier League season at Turf Moor, running out 3-0 winners.

A Chris Wood own goal and strikes from Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino handed Jurgen Klopp’s men a comfortable success.

But Henderson’s evening was brought to a premature end in the 71st minute.

The England international was replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain just moments after tangling with Aaron Lennon near the halfway line.

Henderson required treatment from the club’s medical staff before playing on for a few moments and then being replaced.

He insisted however: "I was all right. I was fine.

"I don’t know, maybe the gaffer thought I was hobbling about a bit. But no, it’s fine.

"I thought we did the dirty bits really well. We worked extremely hard defensively to win second balls, which is important against Burnley. The two strikers (Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes) are really physical.

"I thought we coped with them really well. Going forward we looked good at times and scored some brilliant goals.

"It was a really good performance."

Liverpool boss Klopp admitted post-match his surprise at the start his side have made to the new campaign, following a pre-season where a number of key men were largely unavailable.

"If you ask me four weeks ago I wouldn't expect it would happen," said Klopp.

"We had a tricky pre-season. No pre-season for the front three but they still deliver. So far, so good."
