Jordan Henderson makes admission after Liverpool's win over Porto

Jordan Henderson accepts Liverpool's thumping win over Porto wasn't as conclusive as it appears.

The Reds won 4-1 in Portugal, giving them an emphatic 6-1 aggregate win in the Champions League quarter-final.

But the Reds captain says Porto didn't deserve such a scoreline but was thrilled by the ease in which his team made the final four.

Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Virgil van Dijk got the goals as the Premier League leaders didn't need to break sweat.

They will now play Barcelona for a place in the June 1 final.

Porto 1-4 Liverpool (1-6 agg): 5 talking points as Reds ease into Champions League semis

He told BT Sport: "They are a good a team, they made it intense and the lads dug in and defended really well.

"They had some half chances. You could see the effort that we put in. I was warming up when Sadio [Mane] scored and I thought it was a goal. I think I was the only one.

"Thankfully it was given and it gave us a real boost coming in at half time.

"When I came on I tried to keep the ball and be sensible. Joe [Gomez] made a great run for Roberto Firmino's goal, I just tried to hit an area and it's a great finish from Bobby.

"The scoreline flattered us a little bit. Porto had a real good go. Even when we went in front it was a real good atmosphere."

Jurgen Klopp says he'll need "a few nights" to work out how to stop Lionel Messi.

When asked about his game plan to keep a check on the legendary Barca man, the Liverpool boss said "Thank God I don’t have to think about that tonight. I have a few nights.

"No one has so far managed it, but we will try. We have a few jobs before that.”

He added: "It is first time for me to play Barcelona , apart from in friendlies. I am looking forward to that."
