Jordan Henderson makes admission about Sadio Mane's furious Burnley outburst

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson admits he was actually happy to see Sadio Mane's furious outburst after being substituted at Burnley.

Senegalese star Mane let fly after being taken off late on at Turf Moor, with the Reds cruising towards a 3-0 victory.

Mane, who has enjoyed an excellent start to the new season, fumed after Mohamed Salah elected to selfishly look for goal rather than playing him through on goal.

And moments later the ex-Southampton man erupted on the touchline after Jurgen Klopp's decision to take him off and leave Salah on the field.

The issue was soon forgotten about in the dressing room post-game, with Klopp stating: “He’s an emotional guy, they’re all very emotional.

“Would he do it exactly the same again? Probably not."

However England international Henderson claims Mane's actions were purely down to his wanting the side to be the best - and is no bad thing.

“Sadio is fine, he’s a great lad," said the Liverpool skipper, who was sitting on the bench when Mane went berserk.

“That’s just us pushing each other all the time. I think that’s important. We all want to do better, we all want to improve, but we’re really close and I think we can deal with that.

“I couldn’t really understand at first, but then when he came in, he was laughing and joking.

“The most important thing was we got the result, Sadio knows that.

“He performed really well again. Him and Bobby were really big second half. He had a fantastic game.

“Like I said, we want to push each other. We want to improve all the time. I quite like that now and again. I think we need it.”

Liverpool remain the only Premier League side with a 100 per cent record after seeing off Sean Dyche's men.
