Jordan Henderson injury 'not too good', fears Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp has intimated that Jordan Henderson could be facing a lengthy lay-off after being forced off during Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Brighton on Wednesday.

The midfielder left the field holding his knee after colliding with Yves Bissouma in the closing stages of the victory for the newly crowned Premier League champions.

Standard Sport understands that, contrary to reports, Henderson was not sent straight from the Amex Stadium to undergo a scan on the issue.

However, Klopp struck a somber note when asked about his captain’s prospects in one post-match interview.

He told LFCTV: "We have to see what is with Hendo because that’s, of course, not so good news how it looks in the moment but we have to wait.

"When you are in a situation as a player, sometimes you have the right feeling, sometimes not.

"His feeling at the moment is not too good, but we will see and we hope that it’s not that serious."

Henderson had earlier scored the visitors’ second goal with a fine curler from the edge of the box.
