Jordan Henderson revealed after Liverpool's 1-0 win over Aston Villa that his alleged new role is no different to the one he has been playing recently in the side.
With injuries to Roberto Firmino and no Diogo Jota from the start, Jurgen Klopp opted to start Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in a False 9 role against Aston Villa with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah on the flanks.
That allowed Liverpool's captain to get further forward as Oxlade-Chamberlain dropped deep.
But when asked after the match if his first-half role was a more 'forward-thinking' one, Henderson denied that he played any differently to how he normally would.

TALKING POINT: Gerrard has big Liverpool problem and Villa defeat shows it
"Not really," he replied.
"I think I've been playing that position of late, a little bit more getting forward but of course when Ox is in there he likes to drop in a lot more so maybe just offering a bit more, a few more runs in behind to stretch them but no, we've got a really good squad.
"We adapt really well and and thankfully we did that again today."
In what was a tight game settled by a second-half Salah penalty, Henderson said the team knew that they would be in for a tough game.
Since Steven Gerrard has taken over, Villa had won three of their four games prior to Saturday's fixture and headed into the game on the back of a 2-1 win over Leicester City.
Having played alongside Gerrard, Henderson said that the team knew it wouldn't be an easy game given their spectacular start under their new boss.

"Since Stevie's come in to Villa, I think he's done an amazing job and the performances that they've had of late and even the results that they have got," said Henderson.
"So we knew it would be a difficult test today and it certainly was. But thankfully we kept going, we got the win and then that was the most important thing."
