Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold deliver stirring Anfield message ahead of Liverpool's Champions League clash with Porto

Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold have spoken about the power and emotion of the Anfield crowd in a special new video.

The footage released by the club has been shared ahead of Liverpool's huge Champions League clash with Porto on Tuesday night.

Academy graduate Alexander-Arnold, who features in the spine-tingling clip, said: "My first proper connection with the club was my first game.

"You're walking up the steps and you don't know what you're gonna see because it is your first time.

"And then you just see the bright lights, and the pitch just looks like heaven to you."

Reds skipper Henderson also spoke during the emotional three-and-a-half minute video and admitted what motivates him.

The England midfielder told: "The feeling around the place, listening to 'You'll Never Walk Alone' before kick off. You don't get used to it put it that way.

"Those words mean an awful lot really, and you can use them not only for this football club but in many walks of life.

"These fans are so special that you want to give back to them when you play football that's who I play for, I play for the city and the fans."

Liverpool icon Ian St John reflects on the legendary Bill Shankly in the emotive broadcast.

The former player is joined by Reds fans young and old who have some special stories to describe what the club means to them.
