Jordan Henderson and Liverpool players break silence to tell FSG how they feel about Super League plans

The Liverpool players led by captain Jordan Henderson have sent a powerful message to FSG over their plans to make the club a founding member of the European Super League.

Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, James Milner and Virgil van Dijk all posted the same message across social media at 9pm on Tuesday night and they were joined by the likes of Andy Robertson, Alisson Becker, Thiago Alcantara, Curtis Jones and Neco Williams with Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota, Joe Gomez, Gini Wijnaldum, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Xherdan Shaqiri, Nat Phillips, Divock Origi, Kostas Tsimikas, Ben Davies, Caoimhin Kelleher, Adrian and Ozan Kabak also following suit.

Their message to the club's owners, who made a decision behind the scenes to form a closed-shop breakaway competition with 11 other elite football clubs in Europe, comes just 48 hours after the initial proposals sparked a furious backlash.

It is one of the most important things to happen since the announcement on Sunday night.

Their message read: "We don't like it and we don't want it to happen.

"This is our collective position.

"Our commitment is to this football club and its supporters is absolute and unconditional.

"You'll Never Walk Alone."

Alexander-Arnold added that this was "for the fans and for the city" while Jones said "together with you".
