Jordan Henderson admits he received text messages asking him about problems at Liverpool amid rumours of a bust-up and claims Jurgen Klopp is ready to quit.
But the Reds captain was quick to rubbish the wild rumours, reiterating what Liverpool boss Klopp revealed earlier in the week.
The rumours have emerged on the back of Liverpool's woeful form, which has seen them fall to sixth in the Premier League table.
Henderson told BT Sport: "I got a few texts about the rumours - as the manager said, it was all a load of rubbish. People can blow things out of proportion."
He added: "We've got to go through tough times, not only in football but also in life. All you can do is keep your head down, keep working hard and stay together as a team.
"One day when we come out of this tough period, we will be stronger and more together. If we do that, we can get back to the standards which we've set for long periods of time."
Rumours emerged following Liverpool's defeat by Leicester City, suggesting there had been a bust-up in the dressing room.
Klopp was also linked with a shock exit.
The Liverpool boss addressed the claims earlier in the week, saying: "Did I get the sack or did I leave by myself? I don't need a break.
"Privately, we had a tough time, that was a much longer time already and we always deal with it as a family 100 per cent."
In response to a banner in support of Klopp being unveiled outside Anfield this week, he added: "I heard about both [the banner and the rumours].
"The banner was nice, I don't feel that I need special support in this moment but it's nice. I don't need a break.
"I am fully of energy, honestly. I see an interesting challenge. We will sort it by playing football, we will sort it together by fighting with all we have. That's the plan.
"Nobody has to worry about me.
"We do this for the people. I feel the responsibility so much when things don't go well."
