Jordan Ayew's message for Crystal Palace fans after the Eagles' victory at Man United

Jordan Ayew has vowed that there is more to come from him after scoring his first goal of the season for Crystal Palace in the win against Manchester United on Saturday.

Ayew, who spent last season on loan with the Eagles before joining permanently this summer, has not always been the name on the lips of Crystal Palace fans, after scoring just twice in 25 appearances last season.

But the Palace fans were singing his praises at Old Trafford on Saturday as the Ghanaian international netted the opening goal of the game to help the Eagles to a first win against United in the Premier League era.

The goal was just reward for another fine performance from the 27-year-old, who also impressed on the opening day of the season against Everton, before finding himself on the bench for the trip to face Sheffield United, which Palace lost 1-0.

And Ayew is confident that there will be more to come from him over the course of the season.

"It's nice to hear [the fans singing your name]," he said, speaking to Palace TV after the game at Old Trafford.

"I'll keep working hard and hopefully it's just the beginning to come from me.

"I'm a striker, so I'm happy to score; we are all together, me and Christian [Benteke], it's a good competition [between us]."

But Ayew said he was pleased for the team as a whole to claim a first win of the season at the third attempt, after drawing 0-0 with Everton before the defeat in Yorkshire.

"We are happy. I think we put in a good performance, and now we just need to enjoy the moment because it is not easy to come and win at Old Trafford.

"To come back and score a goal is a good thing for me, but like I said it was to do with team work.

"I have got to congratulate the guys for the three points."
