Jools Holland has called off his 31-date annual tour which was due to bring him to Newcastle in November for his traditional pre-Christmas treat.
The musician, whose annual shows at the City Hall are legendary, had been due to play two dates there with The Rhythm & Blues Orchestra in November.
But he said that with "sadness and disappointment", they're being postponed until next year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The dates now have been rescheduled until December 2021.
The pianist and bandleader said in a statement: “Since the age of 17, I have spent my entire life performing on tour.
"Therefore, it is with sadness and disappointment that myself, my orchestra and our special guests have been forced to postpone our autumn and winter shows."
The tour had been due to kick off in Southend, Essex, on October 29 and wrap up in Leeds on December 20. Newcastle's dates at the 02 City Hall had been planned for November 25-26. Also on the tour line-up were singers Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall as well as special guest Leo Sayer.
The new dates in Newcastle will be December 1 and 2 next year while the 2021 guest line-up has yet to be announced.
Holland and producer Harvey Goldsmith added in a message to audiences: "Due to the world pandemic the tour will take place in 2021, with special guest performers to be announced shortly.
"If you bought tickets, you can be refunded or hopefully come and see us next year."
Holland added: "I apologise to everyone who was looking forward to seeing us, and I speak for my whole orchestra and crew when I say we are all longing to return to the boogie playing field next year. I hope that all of you are alright”.
Ticket holders will be contacted by their point of purchase about moving their tickets to the rescheduled date.
Those who can't make the new dates can apply for a refund up until October 30.
