Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony admits the club are planning on a summer exit for Rangers -linked Jonson Clarke-Harris.
The free-scoring striker netted 33 times as The Posh earned promotion from League One and looks set to follow in the footsteps of fellow London Road graduate Ivan Toney.
Clarke-Harris has been linked with a move to Ibrox this summer with the likes of like Sheffield United and Sunderland also reportedly tracking the hot shot.
MacAnthony told Sky Sports that an offer might come that is too good to turn down and admits a host of clubs have been keeping tabs on the 26-year-old.
He said: "Peterborough United can never pay players £25,000-30,000 a week, there will be seven or eight clubs already offering Jonson Clarke-Harris that kind of money.
“We’re not going to be selling a lot of our assets, but you always have one player that so many clubs are after, they’re going to tap them up which is normal, par for the course and it’s difficult to compete with that.
“He’s been fantastic, the best player in League One, the best goalscorer in England.”
Steven Gerrard has moved quickly this summer to strengthen his attacking options having snapped up Fashion Sakala and Nnamdi Ofoborh on pre-contract deals.
There could be a shake-up of the attacking options with Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent likely to attract suitors, and Jermain Defoe out of contract with the champions.
