Jonson Clarke Harris Rangers transfer news as ex-England star predicts goal machine will be 'looking' towards Ibrox

Man of the moment Jonson Clarke-Harris has been tipped to be tempted by Rangers if they come calling this summer by Kevin Phillips.

The free-scoring striker has scored 28 goals in 41 appearances for Peterborough and looks set to follow in the footsteps of fellow Posh graduate Ivan Toney.

Clarke-Harris has been linked with Rangers and the former Sunderland and England star believes the chance to link-up with Steven Gerrard in Glasgow could be too good to turn down.

Rangers are set to push forward with their 'player trading' model and they could see interest in star turn Alfredo Morelos 12 months after he came close to joining Lille last summer.

And Phillips is certain the former 26-year-old would make the grade north of the border.

Speaking to Football Insider, he said: “I think he would to be honest.

“If you go there you’re going to be playing European football and in a team that is going to be creating chances week in week out and winning those games every week.

“If I was in his position, I would certainly look at Rangers. There’s going to be crowds in there next year and Ibrox is one hell of a place to play football.

“He would opt for Rangers over a Championship side that’s pushing for promotion.”
