Jono Carroll has one eye on Carl Frampton ahead of Maxi Hughes bout

Dublin southpaw Jono Carroll has one eye on a meeting with Belfast’s Carl Frampton ahead of the 21st bout of his career in Yorkshire tonight.

The former World title challenger meets Maxi Hughes on a five-fight card also featuring Belfast’s Sean McComb and Dublin’s Pierce O’Leary.

Carroll, 28, said “I think me and Carl is a big fight. It’s an absolute barn burner.

“The fact that he is from Belfast and I’m from Dublin makes it that bit more exciting. It brings the whole country together.

“It would be a fantastic show.

“I will have this next one with Hughes, then on to a world level and a world title fight after that.”
