Jonny Bongo to host Mowgli Trust Dog Show in Wirral raising money for Claire House

Jonny Bongo will host Mowgli Trust Dog Show which hopes to raise money for Claire House Children's hospice this weekend.

Set up by restaurateur Nisha Katona, the charity hopes to surpass the total of £32,000 raised at the previous event in 2019.

The big family day out will take place at Claremont Farm in Bebington Wirral on Sunday, September 19 from 9am - 4pm.

Heart Radio's Adam Weighell will join the Bongo's Bingo favourite for hosting duties during the championship show where there will be canine competitions alongside local food, drink and craft stalls plus interactive children's activities and funfair attractions.

Nisha, founder of Mowgli Street Food, launched The Mowgli Dog Show in 2018 and has raised over £700,000 through the Mowgli Trust for local and world charities.

Claire House supports babies, children and young people who have sadly been diagnosed with terminal conditions.

While they cannot change the prognosis, they can ensure these children and families get the care and support they deserve.

More children are going to Claire House than ever before – an 84% increase in six years.

Nisha previously told the ECHO: "The reason I launched the dog show is because it brings the friendliest, warmest people together all for the love of the dogs that brighten our busy lives with their greetings, their smiles and their unswerving loyalty.

"They give our days a wag of muddy, humble contentment - a day spent at the altar of the humble things in life is no bad thing and who can complain when it's all in aid for the wonderful Claire House."

The show will consist of seven categories including best fancy dress, best biscuit catcher, best stay, best sausage catcher and child's best friend.

Tickets are priced at £7 per person on the gate or available online for £5, while babies in arms go free.

Onsite parking for Blue Badge holders will be available.
