Jonnie Irwin shares sweet milestone with sons amid terminal cancer diagnosis

Jonnie Irwin shared an adorable photo of his sons at their swimming lessons as he posted another update amid his terminal cancer diagnosis.

The A Place in the Sun presenter previously revealed that he has not told Rex, four, and two-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac about his illness.

He said at the time it would be “horrible news that they’d have to get their head around”, especially when he is still well.

Savouring every milestone, the Channel 4 star, who welcomed his boys with wife Jess, revealed how he had taken them to their swimming lesson.

Uploading a photo of them sitting poolside on Instagram, Irwin said that he felt like a “proper dad” enjoying the moment with them.

Captioning the shot, he penned: “Swimming lessons-proper dad vibes watching my trio today.”

After sharing his update, Irwin’s social media followers thanked him for the post and sent messages of support.

One wrote: “You most certainly are a real Dad top man.”

“Top top Dad Jonnie,” another commented underneath the image. “One day in the future those boys will look back and be so proud of you. Keep going and all power to you.”

A third added: “So you should, your a wonderful Dad with gorgeous boys! A heart of a lion”.

The property presenter announced last November that he could only have “months to live” after his lung cancer spread to his brain and became terminal.

Since then, the 49-year-old has been documenting his health battle and emotional milestones on social media.

Recently, the property expert gave fans a glimpse of the alternative therapies he undergoes to aid his wellbeing while battling terminal cancer.

He captioned his post: “The wait for more scans is frustrating when you know the cancer is on the move again.

“Meanwhile, there’s stuff I can do to make the terrain as tough as possible for growth and the ladies down at @sereniti_health are part of my team of suppliers for various therapies.

“I’d recommend this place to anyone wanting to tap into a healthier lifestyle,” he continued. “Big shout as always goes to @how_to_starve_cancer whose constant help has a huge impact. #respect.”
