Jonnie Irwin parties at TRIC awards ceremony as TV star's 'fighting spirit' wows fans

Jonnie Irwin has bowled fans over with his 'fighting spirit as he partied at Tuesday's TRIC Awards, along with stars from Channel 4's from Escape to the Country.

Jonnie has been very open about battling terminal cancer, since his heartbreaking diagnosis last year, with the popular personality and his family making memories in Newcastle, as Jonnie treasures every moment with his wife Jessica and the couple's sons. The family recently celebrated Father's Day at their Tyneside home, with Jonnie revealing that his children don't know about is terminal cancer, but Jess explained that they are aware that he needs lost a rest.

In a poignant chat about the future, Jonnie also revealed that he has already bought presents for their 18th birthdays, sharing that his biggest fear was that they would 'forget' him. The 49-year-old was in the party mood in London on Tuesday as he joined fellow Escape to the Country stars like former Pop Idol judge Nicki Chapman and Jules Hudson for the annual TRIC Awards ceremony.

And there was reason for Jonnie to celebrate as Place in the Sun took home the award for Best Daytime, with other winners this year including Bradley Walsh for TV personality, Emmerdale for Best Soap and Peaky Blinders for Best Drama. After all of the trophies ad been handed out, Jonnie gave is Instagram followers a look inside the after party, as he danced with Jules.

Fans loved seeing Jonnie in good spirits, with one replying to his post by writing: "How do you do it little bro! What an absolute fighter," with a second responding: "Your absolutely amazing !!!!!! and the courage you’ve shown your children is amazing, what an inspiration you are"
