Jonnie Irwin fans say 'life is unfair' as he shares update

A Place in the Sun host Jonnie Irwin has shared an update as he enjoyed the "best Father's Day ever" with his wife and their children.

The TV presenter, 49, revealed in November 2022 that he had been diagnosed with terminal cancer two years previously and was given six months to live. The Channel 4 star decided it was time to share his diagnosis in order to encourage others to "make the most of every day".

On Sunday he shared a number of photos as he and wife Jess spent Father's Day together with their sons Rex, four, and twins Rafa and Cormac, two.

Captioning the post on Instagram, Jonnie said: "Had the best Father’s Day ever. Breakfast of Chocolate Guinness cake baked expertly my brilliant wife then cards from the boys and visit from my brother in law for a brief pillion ride back in time to enjoy some of the highs and lows of the Ashes, ending in more cake with more family washed down by a drop of champers."

Fans have rushed to send the star well wishes in the comments section. Shona said: "Thank you for sharing the moments of your special Fathers day with your family Jonnie. If I could have one miracle right now I’d give it to you".

Anne said: "Life is unfair. Your boys will know how loved they are, sending love and strength". Fiona said: "You are giving your boys memories of a wonderful, brave daddy" and Mel said: "Beautiful family, life is so cruel at times. Sending all the love".
