Jonjoe Kenny loan to Celtic from Everton confirmed

Everton defender Jonjoe Kenny has completed a loan move to Celtic on transfer deadline day until the end of the 2020/21 season.

The right-back has made four Premier League appearances for the Blues so far this term after returning from a temporary spell in the Bundesliga with Schalke.

And the decision has been made by the club to allow the 23-year-old to leave on loan again, this time moving up to the Scottish Premiership.

Royal Blue: Everton are weighing up a move for Josh King on deadline day

Neil Lennon was asked earlier in the day about the proposed arrival of the Everton man and admitted he had been keeping an eye on Kenny for some time.

The Celtic boss told his press conference on Monday: "He's a player who I've liked for a while.

"He's been at Everton obviously and had a very good career with England at youth level.

"We watched quite a bit of him last season when he was on loan at Schalke. He was playing in a struggling team, but I quite liked his qualities, I quite liked his enthusiasm for the game, I quite like his character.

"He's a bubbly sort of personality and he plays that way as well. I wouldn't say he's similar to Frimpong as everyone's different, but he's a bona fide right back who has come here to try and make us better."
