Sunderland fans were left calling for Jordan Jones and Chris Maguire to start the Black Cats next game after two wonder strikes saw them rescue a point at Gresty Road.
The Wearsiders were far from their best which has seen them receive plaudits in recent weeks.
They were dismal in the first half but Lee Johnson's quadruple change just after the hour mark proved the difference.
Red and White supporters have taken to social media to praise their sides performance.
Brad Fearnley said: "Awful first half but the changes and whatever was said at half time worked.
"Good to see a team not sit back and accept defeat which I’m sure we would’ve done 6 months ago.
"Credit to the players there for digging deep and bailing some shocking individual performances out."
