Jonathon Cooper signs rookie deal with Broncos

We continue to keep an eye on all the former Ohio State players that were selected in the 2021 NFL draft and when they officially ink their deals. The latest is defensive end Jonathon Cooper.

Cooper was selected by the Denver Broncos very late in the draft, way down in the seventh round, but he’s got the work ethic and talent to be a grinding force coming off the edge for a team looking for depth. More than that, he’s one of the greatest people you’ll ever meet.

He missed Broncos rookie minicamp because of a medical procedure, but it now looks like he’s signed his entry contract based on an announcement and picture shared to the official Twitter account of the Denver Broncos.

The contract itself is reported to be worth a total of $3,580,672, with a signing bonus of $100,672 included. The contract is the boiler-plate four-year rookie standard.

It might be an uphill battle to carve out a consistent spot in the Broncos’ plans as a late-round draft pick, but we wouldn’t bet against Coop. Congrats are definitely in order.
