Jonathan Woodgate provides Midddlsebrough injury update ahead of Tottenham FA Cup clash

Middlesbrough boss Jonathan Woodgate has provided the latest injury update on his Middlessbrough squad ahead of the FA Cup clash against Tottenham on Sunday.

The Championship side host Jose Mourinho's men in the third round of the competition as they look to cause an upset and make it to the next stage. However, they will have to do so without up to six players unavailable through injury.

Darren Randolph, George Friend, Ryan Shotton and Anfernee Dijksteel have all been ruled out, and there is two other players who are a doubt ahead of the match.

"Darren Randolph is ten days to two weeks," Woodgate said in his pre-match press conference, as reported by TeessideLive .

"George Friend three weeks, Shotton two weeks. Dijksteel eight weeks. Marcus Browne slight hamstring injury but might be OK tomorrow.

"Ayala we’re going to assess in next 72 hours, he won’t play against Spurs."

Middlesbrough though could be with two new players for the clash after confirming the signings of Lukas Nmecha and Patrick Roberts on loan from Manchester City.

"Really pleased," Woodgate said of the singings.

"Two really good players coming into the squad. Young, progressive talented players who will make a big difference.

"We’ve been lacking in numbers. We needed that. Neil and the chairman did a fantastic job getting them in early.

The Boro boss also confirmed that both could make their debuts against Tottenham.

"Maybe both involved, I’ll see how they train," he said.
