Jonathan Tiffoney among 18 Stenhousemuir players released amid Albion Rovers David Cox investigation

Jonthan Tiffoney is one of 18 players released by Stenhousemuir this week as the defender awaits the outcome of an SFA investigation regarding comments he allegedly made to Albion Rovers forward David Cox.

Tiffoney is alleged to have taunted Cox over his mental health during the Warriors' defeat to Rovers last month, which forced Cox to retire from football at half-time of the clash.

The now ex-Stenny player denies the allegations and has accused Cox of making inappropriate comments to him.

Both are subject to an SFA inquiry, but it is clear Tiffoney's future is not at Ochilview under new boss Stephen Swift, who quit Lowland League BSC Glasgow to take up the job with the League Two club.

East Kilbride striker Mark McGuigan is also among the long list of exits from the club, as well as the likes of other experienced players Greig Spence and Chris Kane.
