Jonathan Taylor leads all RBs in 40 time at combine

The Atlanta Falcons have yet to make a decision on the future of running back Devonta Freeman after a disappointing season. If the team does move on from its former star tailback, it would save roughly $3.5 million in cap space, but leave big hole at the position.

Fortunately, the Falcons have no shortage of options in the 2020 NFL Draft. From Georgia’s D’Andre Swift to Ohio State’s J.K. Dobbins, there are some quality backs in this class.

One name that’s most football fans are already familiar with is Wisconsin’s Jonathan Taylor, who rushed for 2,003 yards and 21 touchdowns on 6.3 yards per carry last season.

Taylor’s 40-yard dash time of 4.39 seconds was the fastest recorded by a running back at the combine. Watch below, as shared by the NFL’s Twitter account:

Taylor may have solidified himself as a late first-round pick with his outstanding 40 time. Already known as one of the more physical runners in the draft, showing that he’s also potentially the fastest bodes well for his ability to become a feature back in the NFL.

Make sure to tune in to the combine today as the linebackers and defensive ends work out. Also, make sure to check out our list of 40 prospects that have reportedly met with Atlanta, which includes Taylor.
