Jonathan Spector could make Hibs debut at Livingston on Friday

Jonathan Spector is in line to make his Hibs debut at Livingston on Friday night after making his first appearance for the club’s Development Squad.

The American played 67 minutes of the 5-0 SPFL Reserve League win over Ross County at Oriam as Hibs ’ second string went top of the table thanks a seventh successive win.

Paul Heckingbottom’s first team can leapfrog city rivals Hearts with a win in West Lothian, even if only for a few hours, and Spector could make his top team bow at the Tony Macaroni arena.

“Potentially,” he replied when asked if he could feature. “I am here and I am hoping to help the team in anyway that I can. I wouldn’t expect to go in and start automatically.

“The team have been doing pretty well and have been on a great run of form. The lads have been playing really well.

“I am here to help in anyway that I can. I want to get some games, every footballer wants to play, so that is ideally the target. I want to do whatever I can to help the team.”

The run out was his first taste of action since playing for previous club Orlando City in the MLS back in September. “It felt really good to be back out playing,” he told Hibs TV. “It’s been a while since my last match, so it was good to be back out on the pitch with the group.

“To get a pretty comprehensive win was good too.

“Physically I felt pretty good and then mentally as well I felt really good. For me, it was about getting some fitness and getting back into the swing of things; I think I did that.

“I felt pretty comfortable out there and I felt confident too.”
