Jonathan Davies ruled out of Wales v France Rugby World Cup quarter-final

Wales have made a late injury change as Jonathan Davies has been ruled out of the Rugby World Cup quarter-final against France today.

Davies had been phased back into training this week following a knee knock he had picked up in the game against Fiji, but has been training with a heavily-strapped knee.

Scans had come back clear towards the end of last week, but the WRU confirmed on Sunday morning that the injury has been aggravated.

Owen Watkin will now start at 13, while Leigh Halfpenny has been named on the bench.

A Welsh Rugby Union statement said: "Jonathan Davies has been removed from the match day 23 due to an aggravation of the knee injury he sustained in the game against Fiji.

"Owen Watkin starts at 13 with Leigh Halfpenny coming on to the substitutes bench."
