Jonathan Bailey is continuing his streak of surprise appearances across Sydney, this time rocking up for a Wicked-themed round of gay bingo at the Beresford Hotel.
The actor — who plays Prince Fiyero in the OG movie and its just-released sequel — was spotted taking to the stage at the Surry Hills venue for its ‘Bingay’ event, which was hosted by drag queen and icon in her own right Charisma Belle.
In between a chorus of cheers, Bailey was asked by the host if he prefers acting in movies or TV, saying he simply prefers “being gay”. Naturally, the crowd went even more wild.
In other clips, Bailey became an assistant bingo caller, cheered along for winners, and hugged people outside the venue.
Bailey did not participate in the Wicked-themed bingo game himself, since being in the actual movies is an unfair advantage and bingo players are notoriously competitive when they’re trying not to fall asleep.
It marks the actor’s most recent Sydney outing, having shocked fans at a screening of Wicked: For Good in Darling Harbour earlier this week.

While there, Bailey said Australia is the “real land of Oz” in reference to the setting of Wicked, before he again went sightseeing at last night’s TikTok Awards.
In a crossover I never knew I needed, the Bridgerton star took to the stage at the ceremony alongside host Sophie Monk, leaving the influencer-filled audience stunned by the sight of an actual celebrity.
The literal Sexiest Man Alive materialised on stage when Monk performed a Glinda-style spell (magic is real!), after which he presented the TikTok For Good Award to winner and wildlife conservationist Josh Neille.
Given his stint of shock cameos, I half-expect Bailey to show up to my neighbour’s garage sale this weekend. If he brings Dorothy’s slippers our street will never have to work again.
