When the announcement came that Jonathan Anderson would be moving to Dior menswear this April, those waiting with baited breath were only able to muster half an exhale.
The former Loewe creative director, who cut his teeth with his own-brand menswear in London, became renowned for his womenswear in recent years. Over the course of his 11-year tenure at Loewe, the Northern Irish designer has crafted countless now-legendary looks, such as Rihanna’s red Super Bowl jumpsuit, Beyoncé's “hands on” Renaissance tour bodysuit, and the Anthurium flower dress, worn by everyone from Zendaya to Adwoa Aboah.
Now, it has finally been revealed that Anderson will be taking the reins at both Dior men’s and women’s — the first person to do so since Christian Dior himself.

This news follows the departure of Maria Grazia Chiuri from Dior Women’s, with the Dior resort 2026 show on Tuesday marking the Italian designer’s last show for the storied French house.
Anderson will present his first Dior collection, Dior Men Summer 2026, in Paris on June 27, 2025. The 40-year-old designer gave a tiny peek into what may be to come at his version of Dior via Instagram today, sharing an image of several delicate, leather four-leaf clovers, embellished with a single ladybird.
Or perhaps he’s simply asking for luck: Anderson’s undertaking at Dior will involve ten collections per year, including two haute couture shows. The latter being a first for the designer.
Anderson also has his own eponymous brand, JW Anderson, to take care of, as well as a regular ongoing collaboration with Uniqlo.
Don’t doubt Anderson too much, though. In 2019, he produced a total of 18 different collections — six for JW Anderson, 10 for Loewe and two for his collaboration with Uniqlo. He has since scaled back his JW Anderson release schedule, giving him more time to focus on other ventures.
In a statement addressing the move, Dior owner and LVMH boss Bernard Arnault describes Anderson as “one of the greatest creative talents of his generation.”

In his own statement, Anderson wrote: “It is a great honor to join the House of Dior as Creative Director of both women’s and men’s collections. I have always been inspired by the rich history of this House, its depth, and empathy.
“I look forward to working alongside its legendary Ateliers to craft the next chapter of this incredible story. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Bernard Arnault and Delphine Arnault for their trust and loyalty over the years.”
