Jonathan Allen says he’s playing this week

Jonathan Allen is playing against the Chicago Bears on Monday night.

So says the Washington Redskins star defender, whose status has been in question all week after he missed Week 2.

Allen kept it simple when asked Friday.

ESPN’s John Keim captured his straightforward answer: “I’m 100 percent playing this week.”

Allen was in individual drills Friday but still seemed like a bit of question mark. Rest assured the Redskins hope he’s right — the defense is one week removed from allowing 250-plus passing yards and three scores through the air and another 213 yards and a score to Dallas’ running game.

The task isn’t much easier against Chicago underneath the bright lights of prime time, so Allen’s proclamation is good news — provided he’s right.
