Jonathan Allen is ‘day-to-day’ with a sprained knee

While the Washington Redskins were busy dominating the first half against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, one of their star players went to the sideline, and eventually the locker room, with an injury.

Defensive lineman Jonathan Allen has been diagnosed with a sprained knee, and he is to be considered day-to-day going forward. While the injury is not the worst-case scenario for the Redskins, it surely would have been helpful to have Allen on the field to help stop the Eagles from rattling off a 32-2 scoring run midway through the game.

For the first half, the defense looked solid, and Allen was routinely able to get in on plays and make a difference. The Redskins badly need him to return to full health, and quickly.
