Jonathan Allen could miss a couple of weeks with a grade 1 knee sprain

According to The Washington Post’s Kareem Copeland, and confirmed by ESPN’s John Keim, Washington Redskins defensive lineman Jonathan Allen has a Grade 1 knee sprain that held him out of most of Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Allen started the game, but came out midway through the first half, and went to the locker room with an apparent knee injury. He was held out for the rest of the contest, and left the stadium wearing a large brace on his leg.

Now, news has surfaced that the sprain could possibly keep Allen out of action for up to a week or two. This is relatively good news, as it was feared that the injury could have been much worse.

We will have to wait to hear more about a timetable for Allen’s return, but as of now, it seems that the worse scare has been avoided for the dominant pass-rusher.
