Everton goalkeeper Jonas Lossl has backed himself to become his side's first-choice stopper.
Lossl was one of seven new signings completed by the Blues this summer, joining the club Huddersfield on a free transfer.
The 30-year-old Denmark international has also previously played for Bundesliga side Mainz 05 having started his career at FC Midtjylland, and was part of the Terriers side that was relegated to the Championship at the end of last season.
But with Jordan Pickford firmly established as No.1 for both club and country, the Dane has so far been restricted to a watching brief, but is confident he can establish himself as his side's first-choice.
"Everton is one of Premier League's best clubs and so I go to it with an open mind and take up the competition," Lossl told Danish publication Tipsbladet .
"After all, I am drawn in to that, so I go for it. I believe 100 percent that I can become a first-team player here.
"Whether it is while Jordan (Pickford) is here or when he's gone, I don't know. But I believe it."
“The main thing is that I can see some perspectives purely sporting.
"I understand from the outside that you think it’s a change for money.
"But I would not have moved here if I did not have faith that I could succeed. I would like to make that very clear.”
