Jonas Jerebko plans to sign with Warriors

LAS VEGAS _ The Warriors are almost done assembling their roster for the 2018-19 season.

Free-agent forward Jonas Jerebko plans to sign with the Warriors once he clears waivers on Monday, league sources confirmed to Bay Area News Group. ESPN first reported the story.

The Jazz waived Jerebko to save costs and free up a spot for a younger roster, creating an opportunity for the Warriors to acquire the nine-year NBA veteran. The Warriors have interest in the 6-foot-10, 231 pound Jerebko because of his positional versatility and shooting abilities. He has averaged 6.2 points, while shooting 46.6 percent from the field and 36.3 percent from 3-point range.

The Warriors will then have 13 players under contract. The Warriors also remain interested in re-signing Patrick McCaw, who is a restricted free agent. Assuming that happens, the Warriors' roster will stand at 14. They likely will keep the last rotation spot both for cost purposes and to maintain flexibility throughout the 2018-19 season.
