Jonas Brothers tease surprise idea for a sequel to their Christmas movie

The Jonas Brothers are rounding off their 20th anniversary year with the release of A Very Jonas Christmas Movie, but won’t be slowing down as they look ahead to new projects and creative collaborations.

Their new Disney+ comedy arrives off the back of a global tour celebrating two decades of music and reconnecting them with fans who’ve grown up alongside them.

The film also comes as the trio prepare to revisit their Disney beginnings once again, with early work underway on Camp Rock 3 — a full-circle moment that ties neatly into their return to the company that first launched them through shows like Jonas and the original Camp Rock.

Reflecting on the moment, Nick told the Standard: “This year has been all about celebrating the 20-year journey we’ve been on. Between the tour and this Christmas movie, we feel like we’ve tapped back into the things we loved about our early work while still pushing toward new goals and achieving new heights.”

Asked what message they’d want a potential follow-up to carry, Kevin said it would build on the theme that drew them to the film.

“Family is what matters — whether you’re born into it or choose it,” he said. “It’s about the quality time you spend together and starting to appreciate that again.”

“He also shared one of his favourite festive memories from their touring days. ‘The best Christmas gift I ever got was from Joe, he gave everyone a book one year, and it meant a lot because we all ended up reading it at the same time,’ Kevin said. Joe laughed and shot back: ‘I’d love to see proof he actually read it.’”

Joe then acknowledged that the brothers haven’t always been as close as they are now. “When we decided to take a break as a band, we were losing touch with who we were as actual brothers,” he said. “Taking time away helped us appreciate each other again and remember where the bond really lies.”

With 2026 approaching, the trio also shared what they’re hoping for in the year ahead. Nick said he wants to take a gentler approach.

“I want to put less pressure on myself and be more present,” he said. “You set so many resolutions you can’t keep. I’m trying to go into the new year with more positivity and enjoy what’s in front of me.”

Joe offered a more light-hearted goal.

“I tried to pick up ceramics and latte art last year… and I’m still trying,” he joked. “Let’s just say the resolution will roll over into the next year.”

Kevin added that Joe’s attempts have provided plenty of entertainment on the road.

When asked whether they’d consider expanding their festive film into a wider holiday universe, the brothers immediately burst into laughter.

“Halloween would be quite fun — make this a scary film,” Joe said, with Kevin and Nick backing the idea.

Delivered with humour but clear enthusiasm, the tease will no doubt fuel speculation about whether a spooky sibling adventure could follow their Christmas debut.

A Very Jonas Christmas Movie blends comedy, nostalgia and the brothers’ familiar chemistry with a more grounded feel reflecting where they are today. With a supporting cast including Billie Lourd, Laverne Cox, KJ Apa, Andrea Martin, Randall Park and Jesse Tyler Ferguson — plus cameo appearances from the Jonas family — it has all the makings of an annual favourite.

For now, the brothers are simply enjoying the reaction to their new film. But with a playful nod toward a very different seasonal theme, they’ve made it clear they’re open to returning — just not necessarily to Christmas.

A Very Jonas Christmas Movie is available to stream on Disney+ now.
