Jonah Williams could be first rookie since Anthony Munoz to start at LT for Bengals

New Cincinnati Bengals coaches aren’t guaranteeing the OTAs offensive line makeup is what makes it to the regular season.

But if it does, Jonah Williams will step into a role as the first rookie to play left tackle since Hall of Famer Anthony Munoz.

Williams has to match expectations for that to happen, though.

“I think every day it will be a conversation,” Taylor said, according to Bengals.com. “What you saw out there today is where we wanted to start and give that group the first look. It could change daily, it could for the next four weeks remain the same.”

For now, Williams on the left side shifts Cordy Glenn inside to guard and leaves Clint Boling without a secured spot. All indications from the team so far are that new arrival John Miller will lock down right guard and Bobby Hart will stay at right tackle.

That could always change, of course. But Williams has some huge shoes to fill after being somewhat unexpectedly thrown into the toughest position of them all along the line.

Call it a testament to Williams, a guy they clearly think highly of just like they did Munoz all those years ago.
