Jon Snow mimicked Drake's Hotline Bling video on Big Fat Quiz of the Year

Jon Snow, long considered one of the UK’s most respected journalists having reported on the fall of the Berlin Wall and the release of Nelson Mandela, can now add performing a successful rendition of Hotline Bling to his resume.

Appearing on the Big Fat Quiz of the Year shown on Boxing Day, Snow delighted viewers and won over the internet by impersonating the Canadian rapper’s famed dance routine.

Wearing his typical suit and loud socks while in the Channel 4 news studio, the broadcaster displayed his uncanny moves after providing one of the quiz’s questions.

Each year Snow turns one of this year’s most successful songs into a news report that the contestants have to guess.

Teammates Richard Ayoade and Greg Davies managed to guess that the story was referring to Drakes’ video “where he dances in various unfurnished white rooms”.

However, neither Claudia Winkleman, David Mitchell, Rob Brydon or Jo Brand guessed the song correctly, leading viewers to wonder if they’d lived under a rock in 2015.

In October the video virtually took over the internet as hundreds of memes, mash-ups and dubs were made and shared to show off Drake’s “dad dancing” in all its glory.

Twitter users were seriously impressed with the 68-year-old broadcaster’s attempt with many saying the moment had made their year and/or Christmas.

Snow also took to Twitter to imply he did it reluctantly:

He looked like a natural to us.
