'Jon Snow has gone on the rob' Police e-fit image bears striking resemblance to Game of Thrones hero

Detectives investigating a robbery may need to look in the north after releasing an e-fit of the suspect - who bears a striking resemblance to Game of Thrones hero Jon Snow.

Sussex Police issued the computer generated image based on the victim's description - which left him with 'soulful eyes', a smouldering expression and wavy, long black hair.

Eagle-eyed Game of Thrones fans were quick to point out the e-fit looks just like Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, portrayed by Kit Harrington in the smash series.

One joker said: "Now that he's not got to worry about the Iron Throne, it seems like Jon Snow has gone on the rob in Horsham."

Other commenters said they thought the image looked a little bit like Harry Styles, or Emmerdale star Jacob Gallagher.

Police are appealing for anyone with any information about the May 15 incident, in Horsham, West Sussex.

The victim was approached by a well-spoken man aged between 18 to 20 as he withdrew money from a cash machine, who followed his victim into his car where he threatened him with a knife until the victim handed over some cash.

Police say the suspect then fled on a bike, and that he was of skinny build and about 5'7" tall, had "very dark hair that was curly and over his ears".

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "About 1am on Wednesday 15 May, officers on patrol were flagged down by a member of the public who claimed he had just been robbed at knife point in Carfax.

"An unknown man is reported to have approached him at a cash machine and demanded money. When the victim refused, he was followed to his car, where the suspect brandished a knife.

"The victim threw some cash on the floor to appease the suspect, who made off from the scene on a mountain bike described as very new in appearance, and with a white frame.

"Police carried out a search for the offender in the area, but there was no trace of him.

"He is described as white, aged 18 to 20, about 5'7" and of skinny build. He had very dark hair that was curly and over his ears, and was well spoken.

"He was wearing a dark coloured beanie style hat, and a cream or white zip-up jacket with a dark coloured raised collar and a hood."
