Jon Rahm agrees DP World Tour deal just days after Saudi Arabia announced LIV Golf funding cut

  • Jon Rahm has finalised an agreement with the DP World Tour, which will allow him to retain his membership and remain eligible for selection for the 2027 Ryder Cup.
  • This resolution follows earlier difficulties where Rahm had declined a previous offer from the Tour, which included playing a minimum of six European tour events and settling fines.
  • Under the new terms, Rahm will pay all outstanding fines accumulated since 2024 and commit to participating in an agreed number of DP World Tour tournaments, excluding Majors, until the end of the 2026 season.
  • The agreement ensures that Rahm, a crucial player in Europe's recent Ryder Cup successes, will be available for captain Luke Donald's team at Adare Manor next year.
  • This deal emerges just days after the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia confirmed it would cease funding LIV Golf at the close of the 2026 season, leading the breakaway league to search for alternative investors.
