Jon McLaughlin's stunning Rangers form ranked as keeper sits on top of the world

Rangers goalkeeper Jon McLauglin is the top ranked goalkeeper on earth based on his shutouts as a percentage of games played.

The 33-year-old Scotland international has made 11 stars this season and has kept a clean sheet in an astonishing ten outings.

And that means he is producing a shut out 90.9 per cent of the time - a stat that puts him at the very summit of world football.

The former Hearts and Sunderland man is over five per cent clear of his nearest rival Alban Hoxha of Albanian side FK Partizani whio has kept scorelines blank six times in seven games.

Perched at the top of a 1487 man list, McLaughlin has been an able deputy to Allan McGregor since a surprise move to Ibrox in the summer.

He was barely called upon last night as he played 90 minutes in the Europa League against Lech Poznan.

Gerrard's side hit top form despite seven changes to the side that demolished Ross County last weekend and dominated the Polish title challengers with an outstanding display.
