Jon Jones on Jan Blachowicz’s UFC title shot push: ‘We all know what happens here’

Jon Jones does not appear to be overly concerned with Jan Blachowicz’s “Polish power” and thinks the outcome of a UFC light heavyweight title fight is inevitable.

Since his stunning knockout of Luke Rockhold at UFC 239 in July, Blachowicz (24-8 MMA, 7-5 UFC) has been pushing for a crack at Jones’ (25-1 MMA, 19-1 UFC) title. With “Bones” hoping to fight in December and several other fresh potential contenders booked, it seems Blachowicz may have a solid chance at getting the opportunity.

Over the past week, Blachowicz has appeared in the media to make his push for the fight. He vowed to make Jones feel his power, and while the comments caught the champ’s attention, it didn’t seem to worry him (via Twitter):

Jones last competed on the same UFC 239 card where Blachowicz beat Rockhold. He earned a split-decision win over Thiago Santos in what was the most competitive fight of his career to date.

From the beginning of the year, Jones said it was his goal to fight three times in 2019 and wipe the division clean of as many contenders as possible. He’s on the cusp of fulfilling that plan, because after beating Santos and Anthony Smith, he’s targeting a spot on the final pay-per-view card of the year, which is UFC 245 on Dec. 14 in Las Vegas.
