Jon Jones calls Stipe Miocic ‘the greatest heavyweight of all time’

After Stipe Miocic knocked out Daniel Cormier to win UFC’s heavyweight title on Saturday night at UFC 241, Jon “Bones” Jones jumped in with a strong take on Twitter. Jones wrote that Miocic is the G.O.A.T., the greatest heavyweight of all time.

Miocic seems to agree. His Twitter bio reads just that: “Greatest Heavyweight of All Time.” Following the match, Miocic also wrote that he is the “BADDEST MAN ON THE PLANET.”

Miocic (19-3 MMA, 13-3 UFC) defeated Cormier (22-2 MMA, 11-2 UFC) in the fourth round of their match in Anaheim, Calif. The KO came after Miocic worked Cormier’s body, which opened up space for a headshot.

Jones and Cormier have a complicated history, as they’ve sparred on social media. Jones has also beaten Cormier once in the ring, with a second win getting tossed out due to Jones testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs.

Miocic didn’t feel like he put together his best performance. Here’s what he said following the fight, via MMA Junkie:

“I was fighting like a b—h. I really was. I don’t take nothing from ‘DC.’ He’s tough. He’s fought the best in the world and he’s beat the best in the world. It took me a little time to get my mojo, and I just wasn’t feeling it. When I walked out for that fourth round, I knew it was going to be over.”
