Jon Halapio, Evan Engram among three Giants out vs. Jets

The New York Giants had started the same five offensive linemen in every game this season — something they had not done in years — but that streak will come to an end in Week 10 against the New York Jets.

In addition to center Jon Halapio, who is expected to miss quite some time with a hamstring injury and has been ruled out, right tackle Mike Remmers (back) was unable to get back onto the practice field and has been listed as doubtful.

Spencer Pulley will assume the starting role at center on Sunday, while second-year offensive lineman Nike Gates will make his starting debut at right tackle if Remmers can’t make a miraculous 48-hour turnaround.

Meanwhile, wide receiver Sterling Shepard will again sit out as he continues to deal with concussion-related issues. He will be replaced by rookie wide receiver Darius Slayton, who will draw the start, and veteran Golden Tate, who will remain in the slot.

Finally, although there was some minimal hope he’d make it back this weekend, tight end Evan Engram (foot) has also been listed as out. He will be replaced by Rhett Ellison.
