Jon Gruden as proud as ever after Raiders’ win against the Colts

After the Raiders beat the Colts 31-24 on the road to move to 2-2 on the season, Jon Gruden didn’t hold back in his praise of his team. According to The Athletic’s Vic Tafur, Gruden said he’s never been more proud as a coach.

Oakland’s season appeared to be on the brink of collapse after an embarrassing road loss to the Vikings last week. The club fell behind 21-0 and never had much of a chance to crawl back in the game.

But this week, the tables turned. The Raiders jumped out to a 14-0 advantage, and even a fumbled exchange by quarterback Derek Carr and running back Josh Jacobs that resulted in a Colts touchdown didn’t stop the Raiders from notching a win.

Gruden mentioned resilience and mental toughness, and rightfully so. The team was reeling and will travel to London for their next game; they could have easily looked ahead to that overseas trip. But they didn’t. The focus was impressive. Now, the Raiders will head to London as a 2-2 squad still hunting for a playoff birth in the AFC.
