Jon Bernthal set to make Marvel history with ‘The Punisher’ special

Jon Bernthal Punisher Marvel Frank Castle Disney

Jon Bernthal is set to reprise his role as Frank Castle, The Punisher, in an upcoming 60-minute Disney+ special.
This untitled special will be Marvel Studios' longest to date, exceeding the runtimes of previous specials like 'Werewolf By Night' and 'Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special'.
Written by Bernthal and director Reinaldo Marcus Green, the special will continue Castle's narrative established in the Netflix series 'Daredevil' and 'The Punisher'.
Bernthal has assured fans that the special will maintain the character's dark and authentic tone, promising it will not be a 'Punisher-lite' version.
The project, filmed in New York City last summer, is expected to be released on Disney+ later this year, coinciding with Bernthal's appearance as The Punisher in the upcoming film 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day'.
