Julia Sieger and Isabelle Rabier © FRANCE 24

This week, we speak to Isabelle Rabier, the founder and CEO of Jolimoi, a French start-up that's revolutionising how women get beauty advice thanks to a powerful algorithm that tells consumers which product is their best match.

The current global pandemic has changed consumer expectations in a big way. As lockdowns were imposed across the world, personal safety and hygiene became top concerns. And in that context, one area in particular has seen unprecedented growth: online sales.

All industries are concerned by this transformation, including the beauty sector. One success story is Jolimoi. This Paris-based French startup has harnessed artificial intelligence to assist women in finding the right beauty products online. It hosts 40 beauty brands and has more than 1,000 beauty ambassadors in France and Belgium and is set to expand to the rest of the world. We speak to the founder and CEO of Jolimoi, Isabelle Rabier.

Our tech editor Peter O'Brien also gives us his insight into the type of competition the French startup is facing.
