A 52-year-old woman allegedly stole money from a senior citizen’s purse during a card game Thursday in Joliet, police say.

Victoria L. Cholke allegedly took the money and hit the victim when the person asked for their money back, Joliet police said in a statement.

Someone tried to intervene, but Cholke also hit that person, police said.

Officers were called as Cholke tried to leave the home near the 500 block of Bethel Drive, police said. She was arrested after a brief struggle, police said.

Cholke is charged with aggravated battery to a senior citizen, battery, theft under $500 and resisting an officer, police said.

Will County court records show that Cholke was charged twice in 2018 on two separate counts of battery.

She is due in court Friday afternoon.
