Joleon Lescott issues PSG warning as Owen Hargreaves makes claim Man City fans will love

Former Man City defender Joleon Lescott believes PSG will 'struggle to cope' with his former club this evening.

City travel to the French capital in what is already being dubbed as a battle between two potential winners of this season's UEFA Champions League.

They head into the clash on the back of a vital win over Chelsea in the Premier League and despite PSG boasting an attacking trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe that is the envy of world football, Lescott believes the outcome of the game is entirely dependent on City's gameplan.

"After the performance at the weekend, it’s all about Man City," Lescott said.

"The way they played against Chelsea out of possession, I’m not sure PSG will be able to cope."

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand joined Lescott in the BT Sport studios prior to kick-off and although he felt City 'performed like champions' at Stamford Bridge, he is wary of the impact Messi could have on Tuesday evening's game.

"I was so impressed with the way Man City dominated the game without the ball," Ferdinand added.

"We know how good they are with the ball but they dominated that Chelsea team who everyone was saying would be championship contenders.

"They dealt with them properly and played like champions.

"What’s great about this game is with Messi if he turns it on, he can win any game on his own. Today will be no different, yes those behind him will have to perform a bit but he can do magical things and change the narrative in an instant."

Nonetheless, former City midfielder Owen Hargreaves believes Guardiola's side are a 'better team' than their big-spending opponents.

"That’s one of the greatest front threes to play, Messi, Neymar Mbappe," Hargreaves said.

"The front three are off the chart, but the rest of the team are going to be under a lot of pressure, because they won’t track back.

"City, everybody works for the team. PSG are better on paper but City are the better team as a collective."
