Joker: Joaquin Phoenix's evil laugh 'revealed' in resurfaced set video

A resurfaced alleged set video from the new Joker film seems to reveal Joaquin Phoenix’s evil cackle as the famous Batman villain.

The leaked clip, allegedly taken on the set of Joker from The Hangover director Todd Phillips, has been posted to a fan account of Instagram

Joker wrapped filming in December. It’ll be set in a 1980s version of Gotham City and promises to be an ‘exploration of a man disregarded by society [that] is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale.’

Phoenix’s character will be a struggling comedian, much like Rupert Pupkin in Martin Scorsese film The King of Comedy.

It was recently revealed that plans to make another film featuring Jared Leto’s Joker – who debuted in Suicide Squad – had been scrapped. His co-star Margot Robbie will return as Harley Quinn in all-female DC film Birds of Prey

The film will star Phoenix alongside Robert De Niro, Marc Maron, Zazie Beetz, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen and Bill Camp.

It will be released on October 4.
