In news that will shock absolutely no one, JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes are officially dating.
Despite weeks spent travelling together and sharing cutesy pictures on social media, the Celebrity Big Brother UK stars have consistently maintained that their relationship was platonic. Now, it seems that the Dance Moms and the Love Island stars are ready to come clean about their romance.
During an interview with The Guardian, JoJo was asked straight up whether the relationship was romantic or platonic. After what journalist Ellie Hunt described as “a full 20 seconds” of silent grinning, JoJo confirmed she is currently dating Chris, whom she refers to as “sweet Christopher”.
“It’s not platonic any more, and it’s been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection, and I’m absolutely head over heels for him, and he’s the same way,” she said.

While some people have been theorising that the couple’s union is a big ol’ PR stunt, JoJo said it was a bananas assumption.
“Clearly, you’ve never been around us,” the “Karma” singer said.
“I won’t ever speak for him, but for me personally, the happiness in my life just radiates off of me right now.
“Literally yesterday, I was massaging my cheeks; I’ve never [before] been in pain from smiling so much.”

JoJo and Chris’ blossoming relationship has been part of online conversation since the early days of the Celebrity Big Brother season.
While it was clear the pair were becoming close, JoJo had made no secret of her relationship with Australian creator and podcaster Kath Ebbs, who was watching the show from the outside.
The messy situation turned into a spectacle, sparking huge conversations on social media. Are they just friends? Are we dismissing the legitimacy of sapphic relationships by assuming that there has to be something romantic between Chris and JoJo? Or was this the early stages of a romance?
Now, we know it was the latter, but because of all the speculation, JoJo understands why people are so interested in her relationship.
“People can see our chemistry, and they got to see it develop,” she said. “I think everyone’s just curious, and I can’t blame them.”
JoJo and Chris’ relationship does get a mixed response from the public, especially following her breakup with Kath.
“I do live this very, very big public life that has so many eyeballs on it, and it can get really hard to navigate. But I’m also living a human life,” JoJo shared.
“You can’t help who you love.”
Kath and JoJo started dating publicly in January 2025. They split up in May, during the Celebrity Big Brother UK afterparty.
